Nicholas Rosenlicht, MD

Dr. Rosenlicht has over 35 years experience in the treatment of psychiatric disorders and the teaching of psychiatry at top medical schools. He is a Clinical Professor of Psychiatry at the University of California, San Francisco, School of Medicine. He is founder and served for 15 years as the director of The UCSF-VAMC Mood Disorders Clinic. He specializes in the treatment of mood disorders, anxiety disorders, sleep problems, substance use disorders, and ADHD. He also provides couples and relationship counseling.  


Approach
Dr. Rosenlicht uses an integrative approach, incorporating psychotherapy (both traditional psychodynamic and cognitive behavioral therapy), medications, natural products and life coaching. When necessary, he collaborates with other select professional colleagues to deliver the most personalized and effective care possible. He will work with you to craft the optimal plan for your situation.


A Partnership
Dr. Rosenlicht allies solely with his patients. He does not work for or accept funding, gifts, or any other perks from the pharmaceutical and medical device manufacturing industry.  He is an internationally recognized expert in EBM (see Services and Academics) and will help you to sort evidence from marketing hype in guiding your treatment. He uses his extensive knowledge and experience to collaborate with his patients to craft the most helpful treatment interventions possible, using the optimal combination of therapy, and medications when indicated.
